Two years back while feeling dismayed at needing rewrite my first manuscript for the third time I picked up "In Conquest Born" at a local secondhand book store. Your writing and advice has been so incredibly helpful! I am now planning to mail out my first (and, I believe, gleaming) manuscript this fall. Knowing the difficulty I look forward to the future challenges. Thank you for all your hard work!

This is entirely true. I have run roleplaying games for 13 years at least, and they are wonderful crucibles for testing the limits of a system. Depending on the player, everything from ethical considerations to the physics of magic can be tested, and some wonderful stories can be told just by breaking the rules. I especially LOVE to find those "its not tradition" type limitations and break them, exploiting the chaos to drive the story. Thank you for affirming that roleplaying can be another tool in the author's tool box.

I love that you used internet/text grammar in section 5 "No Internet Grammar!" It made me smile. ... Thank you for your direct advice on the subject of publishing. Even in scribbled-essay form, your thoughts are a pleasure to read. And thank you for impacting me so much with your style, that you shifted my desire for reading into an obsession with writing. I've given away countless copies of your books, in the hopes of impacting others in the same way. Suffice it to say, I have recruited many to your following. Please keep writing. :-)
